In this album, Omer focused on a specific sound that is influenced from the west coast philosophy of synthesis regarding modular synths. Hershman was inspired by Suzanne Ciani and Morton Subotnick’s work with the Buchla system. Steve Reich’s discipline of minimalism and monotone repetition and Terry Riley’s work with sequences.

Every track requires the patience of discovering a musical journey from beginning to end. An experience that morphs and changes through minute pulses.. Hershman is trying to bring back the perception of process. Giving objects in space the time to change shape from limitation.

Creating an ongoing sustainable experience that is limited to 4 voices that become 4 sequences that relate to each other. The real game is creating textures in between sequences and finding the hidden melodies that come to life, just like staring at one point for a long time.
Sound as an agent of change.

All the music was composed and played on analog modular synths and recorded on reel to reel tape, no overdubs, no editing, no computers involved.
